Assalammualaikum and Hello everyone !

As I promised on the previous post, This time around will be more about Laskar Pelangi~
" mimpi adalah kunci
untuk kita menaklukkan dunia
berlarilah tanpa lelah
sampai engkau meraihnya "
- Laskar Pelangi, Nidji

 Museum KATA Andrea Hirata

Laskar Pelangi~ Most of you will familiar with this words because of the song by popular Indonesia band, Nidji. Yeahh! Same goes to me but did you know Andrea Hirata??? Well, he is the real person behind Laskar Pelangi. Andrea Hirata is an award winning author from Indonesian that wrote Laskar Pelangi Novel. He is one of the reasons why Belitung get attention all over the world. If you read the novel you probably know why. To be honest, I'm not that "reading" type of person but when I heard about this story it make me want to know more about this place. Or you can watch Laskar Pelangi the movie that adapted based on the novel. I get goose bumps when I heard about it.

Anyway, I'm not going to elaborate more about the novel or film or the song. You can read and watch it yourself. Heeee.. Another must-go-to-place at Belitung is Museum KATA Andrea Hirata. "KATA" means "word" in English. This is the first literature museum in Indonesia that was founded by the author Andrea Hirata himself. By visiting this museum, people will get inspired by the quotes, literature and more inspirational things.

Warm welcome words

You have to buy Laskar Pelangi Novel (Mini version) worth of RP 50,000 to enter this museum. It's a private museum for those who love arts, literature and book/novels. The operation hour of Museum KATA Andrea Hirata from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Since 2010

You can find a lot of quotes in this museum from world famous author that will give you inspiration in your life as the quotes also help Andrea Hirata growing and learning. The museum is actually an old building it is simple yet colourful. There is so many spot to take a photo. It is colourful like rainbow.

Once you enter the museum you can see a lot of inspirational things on the wall.

There's a lot of rooms that you can enter such as Ruang Ikal, Ruang Lintang, and Ruang Mahar. Each Ruang have its own story behind it. While reading those inspirational quotes you can find various spot for photographs.

Colorful is everywhere

Love this spot

and this one tooo

I love how they still preserved the old building instead on destroy it. They simple paint colourful on the wall, brick, windows, doors and everywhere~

Good spot for OOTD as well.

The environment at this museum make you feel "colorful". This is becomes one of Belitung's pride and the only one literature museum in Indonesia. We spend around 30 minutes++ at this Museum before we're heading to the next place that is Replica Sekolah Laskar Pelangi. Weeee~

 Replika Sekolah Laskar Pelangi

Next, we're going to Replika Sekolah Laskar Pelangi. This is the replica of Sekolah SD. Muhammadiyah, Gantong which represent the real school situation back then (when Andrea Hirata a kid). The current school location has become real school for the locals so they build this replica of the real school of Laskar Pelangi. The school is build at a soft white sandy hill area. We arrived there at late evening so the weather pretty good not too hot at that time.

This is also the place where the shooting for Laskar Pelangi the movie is takes place. Apparently as the time goes by, the condition of the school might be a little bit different then what you see in the movie but they still keep the school like the real version of SD Muhammadiyah.

" SD Muhammadiyah is then know as SD "The Rainbow Troop" which is described on the phenomenal novel from Andrea Hirata. The old school id the witness when he run his own dream it then broguht him to attend the master course in Europe. As a poor man living in a rich area could not stop him to reach his dream to explore Europe. His fiction has inspired local and global community to reach their dreams while they are very poor" - written on the board

At the class room of SD Muhammadiyah

What a mess situation here. Hahahaa...

We're probably the most noisy students. LOL

*garang nya cikgu ni

If you watch the movie, you'll be more anticipating and excited to come and witness this. Suddenly I feel like "Ohh, I wish I watched the movie first before I came here" because the feeling might be different as you will get "feel" even more. I was practically "blur" at that time as I was only focusing on taking photo instead of appreciate the moment. Anyway, my advice to you, watch Laskar Pelangi the movie or read the novel first before you come here. *tips

 Rumah Makan Belitung Timpok Duluk

Oh yeayyy! It's dinner time~

For the second night at Belitung we're having dinner at Rumah Makan Belitung Timpok Duluk. This restaurant located at hilly area where you get to see an "old-school" stuff here. The design of the restaurant also unique.

The menu~

The interior is even awesome as they present the antique design and stuff here. The table set up also like old style with "kerusi panjang" and wooden table . They basically want us to experience on Belitung's traditonal way.

Traditional style

We were served with special menu as we getting into Belitung's traditional dishes. Before we can start, they will explain about the culture and tradition behind it like on how to eat the dishes in a proper Belitung's way. There also have several steps before the dinner begins and it was fun! In one set it is served for 4 person.

This is how the Belitung's traditional menu looks like. Not like Jawa or Nasi Padang style more on the Belitung style~

They classic style! Me loike

What make it more interesting is that the dishes were served in the classic steel cup and plates.

Food bring us together! Hahahaa
*nampak tak semua orang happy

We're enjoy our dinner.
The taste is totally new for us, some said that it taste like rendang and some said like nugget and bla bla bla blaa.. but I can tell you it is different. You can try this out if you like to try their traditional menu. You can taste the authentic style of Belitung~

That's how the DAY 2 going at Belitung. After dinner, we went back to the hotel and get some rest for tomorrow's activities. It's time to explore the nature~
